This was the victory the Lady Panthers were looking for.

And their first win of the season was a sweep, 3-0, over the winless Two Eagle River Lady Eagles in Alberton.

The two teams battled back and forth in the first set with Two Eagle assuming an early lead before Alberton fought back and tied the set at 12.  There were three more ties and lead changes until the Panthers broke a 15-all deadlock and built a narrow lead that fluctuated between two and three points.

They finally pulled away to a 24-19 lead, then scored the set winner to give the Lady Panthers a 1-0 match lead.

In the second set, Alberton overcame a brief Two Eagle lead, then went ahead 4-3.  The Lady Panthers steadily built a lead of 17-7 and maintained it on their way to a 25-15 second set victory that gave them a 2-0 match advantage.

The third and deciding set was all Alberton as they bolted out to an 8-1 lead, held off a minor Two Eagle rally, then closed out the set 25-12 for the match sweep.

The Lady Panthers play Drummond tonight (Sept 24) at home, then travel to Hot Springs Friday (Sept 27) for a match with Hot Springs, which also won their first match of the season this past week.
