James F. Hagan, 95

James F. Hagan, 95, passed away in Bigfork on Sept. 12, 2024, of natural causes.

He was born Aug. 29, 1929, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Fred T. and Madge Hultsch Hagan. He graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1947. He attended Carleton College and the University of Iowa, graduating from University of Iowa in 1952, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He married Jean Miller, July 29, 1978, in Helena.  

Jim served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 as First Lieutenant, Corp of Engineers. He worked as an accountant for General Electric Corporation in Schenectady, New York and General Host Corporation (Eddies Bakeries) in Oklahoma and Montana. He had lived in Montana since 1964. 

He is survived by his wife, Jean of Bigfork; his brother, John Hagan of Plymouth, Minnesota; and numerous nephews and nieces.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, William Hagan of Fort Dodge, Iowa; sister, Beverly Van Skike of Moraga, California; and sister-in-law, Wilma Kay Hagan.

Private family memorial services will be held in keeping with Jim’s preferences. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to Jim’s wife at P.O. Box 2080, Bigfork, MT 59911. Memorial donations may be made to Flathead Youth Home in Kalispell, Glacier Symphony and Chorale, the Salvation Army, Logan Health and the Bigfork QRU.
