ROYAL CITY — Nineteen-year-old Antonio Perez Saquic reportedly barricaded himself inside his Royal City home to avoid being arrested for second-degree assault – domestic violence and violation of protection order with assault resulting in a half-an-hour shelter-in-place, according to a statement from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

GCSO and Royal City Police received a call around noon Wednesday for an assault in the 15000 block of Road B Southeast near Royal City, according to the statement. Probable cause was established for assault and violation of a protection order.

Around 2 p.m. negotiation started happening with Perez Saquic led by the GCSO, RCPD and the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team, according to the statement. Flash bangs and other means to getting Perez Saquic out of the house were used; however, Perez Saquic still did not exit his residence.
