COEUR d’ALENE — Police arrested two men who prosecutors said were caught in a sting operation after they allegedly exchanged inappropriate messages with an undercover police officer posing as a teen girl.

Adam D. Tyler, 34, and Shandon S. Singer, 33, are each charged with enticing children, a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison. 

First District Judge Destry Randles ordered Monday that Tyler and Singer be held on $150,000 and $200,000 bail, respectively. 

The charges stem from separate incidents that allegedly occurred during “Operation Spring Break,” an undercover operation that involved the Coeur d’Alene Police Department, the Boise Police Department and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, according to court records. 

As part of the operation, investigators created a profile on a dating app that purportedly belonged to a 14-year-old girl. 

Tyler and Singer initiated contact with the fake profile, according to court records, and allegedly engaged in suggestive conversations with an undercover officer who was posing as a 14-year-old girl. 

Both men allegedly made plans to meet the purported girl in Kootenai County and engage in sexual activities, according to court records. 

Police arrested Shandon late Friday night at the Super 8 Motel in Coeur d’Alene. The same night, police pulled Tyler over and arrested him while he was driving to a Coeur d’Alene residence, court records said. 

Singer and Tyler remain in custody in the Kootenai County jail.
