Superior boys golf team up to the challenge

The 2025 Superior High golf team will be known this year as the Bobcats.
Same as the last many years, but this year there will be no Lady Bobcats golfers.
Nine players turned out for the golf team and all were boys.
“We have zero girls out this year,” said head golf coach Seth Kuhl. “Nine boys”.
Among those boys are three key returnees including the team’s lone senior, Anthony Dodd, and juniors Phin Cataldo and Brydon Drey.
Gone to a transfer is Owen Doyle, who is now a student at Thompson Falls.
This season the team is focusing on game maturity and knowledge, according to Kuhl.
“Game maturity (is key), ball striking is the beginning, but game knowledge is where you start to score,” Kuhl said. “We need to improve on our game knowledge and the 6” game (putting)”.
The Bobcats are in a tough division, Kuhl added.
“We are a young team competing in class B against some major golf power houses in our division”.
Among those strong opponents are state champs Jefferson, fourth place Loyola, fifth-place Anaconda and sixth place Florence.
Kuhl’s coaching goals for the season have not changed despite the challenge.
“Same goals I have always had,” he said. “Teaching kids how to play this great, lifelong sport”.
