“He got off to a really good start on Tuesday and threw extremely well again today,” said Timberlake coach Bryce Johnson of Wylie, who struck out five in three perfect innings against Priest River on Tuesday. “He’s really accurate and lives in the strike zone. He just locates his pitches really well, and I was really pleased with how he threw today.”

Wylie and Pecor had two RBIs each for Timberlake, which scored 14 runs in the first inning of the first game. Sophomore Gaige Haines had a three-run single in the first inning of the first game, then had a two-run single in the first inning of the nightcap for Timberlake as the Tigers scored 10 runs in the first, all with two outs.

“We were really close to not scoring in that inning, but Gage ripped a shot into the gap and got us going in the second game,” Johnson said. “We did a good job of getting timely hits when it counted.”
