PREP ROUNDUP: Coeur d'Alene boys, Post Falls girls up for the Challenge

SPIRIT LAKE — Coeur d’Alene junior Camden Johnson had wins in the 110-meter hurdles and 300 hurdles to help the Viking boys claim the team title at the Kootenai County Challege on Friday at Timberlake High. 

“The boys won it with depth,” Coeur d’Alene coach Shawn Amos said. “We had 21 athletes score points and six of our relays scored points. We have a lot of athletes stepping up and putting the team first.” 

Post Falls sophomore Reagan Hutchinson won the 400 and ran winning legs in the 4x200 and 4x400 relay to help the Trojan girls claim the team title. 

“It was by far our best team effort of the year,” Post Falls coach Wade Quesnell said. “All of the kids competed really hard. (Timberlake) coach (Brian) Kluss and his staff, they run a really good, competitive meet. We had good weather with some good times from a lot of the younger kids. I was really happy with our kids' effort.”

Ceja-Grimaldo helps 'Jacks

to third at Moscow invite

MOSCOW — St. Maries senior Julien Ceja-Grimaldo notched wins in the javelin, long jump and triple jump, leading the Lumberjacks to a tie for third in the Moscow Invitational at Moscow Junior High. 

St. Maries junior Isaiah Gustaffe won the 110-meter hurdles and 300 hurdles for the Lumberjacks. 

St. Maries sophomore Raevyn Yearout won the girls 100, 200 and javelin. 

Moscow swept team titles.
