NIC SOFTBALL: Cardinals drop two against Snow

EPHRAIM, Utah — Emily Hanchey singled to score Haydyn Yamaguchi with the go-ahead run in the top of the fifth inning in the first game for North Idaho College, which allowed two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, falling to the Badgers 3-2 in a Scenic West Athletic Conference game at the Snow College Softball Complex on Saturday. 

Snow (18-21, 13-11 SWAC), which is third in the conference, scored five runs in the bottom of the second in the second game, winning 9-1 to sweep the weekend series. 

NIC (15-23, 7-15), fourth in the conference, had three errors in the second game. 

NIC and Snow split games 2-2 when they played March 7-8 at Airport Park in Lewiston.

The top four finishers in the conference advance to the Region 18 Tournament at the site of the conference champion May 7-8. 

NIC travels to fifth-place Utah State-Eastern (8-21, 4-16) for doubleheaders next Friday and Saturday.
