Bonners Ferry Herald | UPDATED 8 months AGO
Boundary County Little League is back for its second consecutive season. Opening day is set for Saturday, April 19, with games beginning at 1 p.m. at the Boundary County Fairgrounds for Minors, 11 a.m. at Riverside Park for Majors, and 10 a.m. at Valley View Elementary for Juniors.
“Thanks to the outpouring of support from our entire community and local businesses we’ve been able to sustain and even grow our program,” said Matt Pluid, Boundary County Little League president and coach about Little League. “Last year we had about five softball and 10 baseball teams, this year softball stayed the same, but we added two more teams to baseball.”
Little League offers three divisions: Minors (ages 7-10), Majors (ages 11-12), and Juniors (ages 13-15). Schedules are available at boundarycountylittleleague.org.
Everyone is invited to come and support the local youth athletes.
The Little League program is also looking for umpires, Pluid said.
“Finding game umpires is always a struggle,” said Pluid about the search for umpires. “Umpires are paid for their efforts so even if you’re a highschooler who wants to give it a try and make a little extra cash, don’t hesitate to reach out.”

“Thank you so much for supporting and believing in us and we look forward to another great season,” Pluid said.
Boundary County Little League officials also thanked their 2025 sponsors.
“We are grateful for our 2025 sponsors who enable us to upgrade equipment, improve fields, provide jerseys, and sponsor players who wouldn't otherwise be able to participate,” Pluid said.
2025 sponsors are Cornerstone Family Medicine, Badgers Den, BF Garbage, White Mtn Chain, Vinyl Expressions, NW PreStain & Paint, Kootenai River Inn, Sturgeon Station, Eden Health, Bushnell Law, Wink Inc., Gardner Custom Homes, Mirror Lake Golf Course, North Idaho Energy Logs, State Farm and Kootenai Tribe of Idaho.
