Vaughan wins Pacific Northwest

PGA Senior Players Championship

PGA Professional Darin Vaughan of Cobra/Puma Golf won the Seniors Players Championship on Thursday at Wine Valley Golf Club in Walla Walla, Wash.

Vaughan shot a 6-under-par 66 in the final round to beat Ryan Malby of Kalispel, Mont., by one stroke for the title.

Gonzaga's Ejim named Academic

All-American for second time

GREENWOOD, Ind.– College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2024-25 Academic All-America® women's basketball teams for NCAA Division I-II-III and NAIA, which included Gonzaga's senior forward Yvonne Ejim. Ejim is one of four players in the country that was given CSC Academic All-America honors for the second consecutive year She is the first player in Gonzaga women's basketball history to earn the honors as she has earned a 3.6 GPA with a major in Human Physiology. 

Ejim was drafted by the Indiana Fever earlier this week to become the ninth player in Gonzaga women's basketball history to be drafted in the WNBA. The Olympian from Canada holds the record for most points scored (2,385), most rebounds (1,140) and most field goals (970) scored in Gonzaga history. She is the first player in WCC history to record 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. She is the back-to-back WCC Player and WCC Defensive Player of the Year after breaking the single season scoring record with 726 points this season.

Last season, she was named GU's first women's basketball player to be named an Academic All-American and the Becky Hammon Player of the Year. She was also tabbed with AP All-American Honors for the second-straight season.
