PREP TENNIS: Woelfle, Becker see first varsity tennis action of season

COEUR d'ALENE — Bonners Ferry High junior Daniel Woelfle and freshman Kaitlyn Becker competed this past Saturday at the 4A-1A All-League meet held at Coeur d'Alene High, representing the Badgers in their first varsity tennis action of the season.
There are two All-League meets that happen per season in which schools such as Clark Fork, Couer d'Alene Charter, Grangeville, Orofino, Clearwater Valley, Culdesac, and now, Bonners Ferry, attend.
Woelfle won his first match, 8-2, before the meet was canceled due to poor weather conditions and he was unable to complete his three other scheduled matches. Becker went 1-1 (6-0, 6-3) in her two matches before the call.
The next All-League meet is scheduled for Saturday, May 3 at Lewiston High. These meets help determine the seeding for the 4A-1A District 1-2 tournament set to be held Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10, also in Lewiston at Sacajawea Middle School. The top five boys singles players from the district meet will move on to the 4A-1A State Championship which will be held Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17 at Ridgevue and Owhyee High.
