Shoshone News-Press | UPDATED 3 weeks, 3 days AGO
Carol Anne (Jaeger) Poulson, 89, of Spokane Valley, Wash., (formerly of Kellogg and Hermiston, Ore.), passed away Jan. 29, 2025, at home. Carol was born in Kellogg on July 18, 1935, the daughter of Eldon and Goldie (Kendig) Jaeger.
Carol grew up in Kellogg and graduated with the Class of 1953. She met Charles ‘Chuck’ Poulson after he moved to Kellogg and his aunt and her mom introduced them. They married July 24, 1955, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church and had four children. Carol belonged to the Jaycees, Catholic Daughters and enjoyed golf as much as possible. She worked various part-time jobs, but in 1974, she went full-time as a secretary at Kellogg Senior High. After almost 20 years, they moved to Hermiston, Ore., and bought a laundromat. They enjoyed years of ‘working’ in the morning, lunch with the Sorensons and other friends, then off to the golf course! They also enjoyed many cruises and golf trips with family and friends. She especially enjoyed her lunches with classmates Vonda and Doris, and recently lost Kay and Virginia.
Carol is survived by her children, Sheri of Spokane Valley, Ken (Debi) of Nampa, Idaho, Linda (Tom) Litalien of Post Falls, Idaho, and Rich (Donna) of Montgomery Gulch, her brother, Jim Jaeger of Osburn, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Tuffy. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Chuck, and sisters Jean Bellamy, Arlene Sorenson and Winnie DeJanovich.
Special thanks to Rocky and Maddy for the care they gave Carol in her last year, and Providence Hospice for their special care at the end of her life at home.
