Law enforcement logs for April 18, 2025

The reports below were provided by the sheriff's office or police department indicated. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  

Ephrata PD 

April 10 

Report of shots fired in the 1600 block of Division Avenue East. Reporting person said suspect fled in a White Chevrolet Tahoe. Ephrata PD responded to the area and was unable to locate the suspect. Call was then reopened. Suspect was contacted and it was determined to be a bird dog training device. 

Report of harassment on Basin Southwest. Reporting party said victim accused her of stealing her wallet. Determined victim had lost her wallet two days prior. Victim does not know if reporting party took it but asked her since they were together the day it went messing. No crime at this point.  

Report of cold theft in 1300 block of Nat Washington Way. Suspect vehicle had left headed west toward round-a-bout on Highway 282. Female suspect identified from surveillance footage and determined to be same female suspect from prior theft.  

Report of theft on Nat Washington Way. Suspect selected several items in her cart and pushed out the garden center without paying. Suspect was contacted outside the store and refused to come back inside. Suspect grabbed two shopping bags from the cart and fled West and Highway 282.  

April 11 

Report of victim nearly causing several collisions on State Route 17 and State Route 282. Vehicle stopped and found suspect to be without a valid driver’s license. Suspect was cited for reckless driving and no valid operational licence. Suspect released not to drive. 

Report of theft at business on Basin Street. Reporting party said unknown suspect was in bathroom for over four hours. Suspect exited the bathroom and took some energy drinks prior to leaving the store. Reporting party found broken drug paraphernalia in the bathroom after. Suspect to be trespassed if identified. 

April 12 

Report of trespassing in the 100 block of D Street Northeast. Reporting party said suspect walked in through the back door and was causing a disturbance. Upon police arrival, suspect said she wanted to collect her belongings left during her jail stay. Reporting party was told she could get her belongings during a reasonable hour.  

Report of theft. Loss prevention said suspect took items and passed through all points of sale. The suspect had done it two times this week, with this report being the third time. The suspect was trespassed and will be charged by report for third-degree theft.  

April 13 

Report of traffic stop for equipment violation. Driver found to be DUI. Driver arrested and booked for DUI, no valid operating licence, open containers and a felony Department of Corrections warrant.  

Report of traffic stop for expired registration. Driver found to be third-degree driving with license suspended. 

Report of collision on Patrick Road Northwest and North Line Road Northwest. Tow truck called. The vehicle had fallen down the ditch and had knocked out a fence in the process.  

Report of suspect walking eastbound on First Avenue Northwest. The suspect had a Department of Corrections warrant. Suspect contacted and taken into custody then transported to Grant County Jail. 

April 14 

Report of assault at Ephrata High School. Principal said four students were involved in a fight. Ephrata High School taking disciplinary action for all subjects involved.  

April 15 

Report of found drugs on A Street Southeast. Reporting party said they found several drugs and paraphernalia in the job box style dumpster. Items collected due to ease of access by juveniles. Syringes placed in a sharps container. Presumed narcotics collected and logged. Other items disposed of in proper trash can.  

April 16 

Report of collision of vehicles on Basin Street Southwest. Vehicle one behind vehicle two. Vehicle one did not stop and hit vehicle two. Vehicle one has substantial damage to front end and both front airbags went off. Vehicle one pushed to side of road.  

Report of theft. Reporting party said subject wanted to buy the truck and took it to show his wife. Reporting party said subject never returned with truck until three days later. Reporting party said the subject left a rifle as collateral for borrowing the truck. Today the subject came to reporting party home saying the rifle was stolen and he wanted it back.  

Report of cold theft, office day prior. Two suspects left the store without paying for items. Photographs of suspects and vehicle are in files tab.

April 14 

Report of stolen trailer in Moses Lake that occurred over the weekend. Reporting party said it was a 16-foot trailer with charcoal framing equipment valued at $15,000. 

Report that a truck hit a powerline and the line is over the truck now.  

Report of subject that kidnapped another person is sitting outside the Open Doors Sleep Center in a white chevy tahoe.  

April 15 

Report of cow stuck in canal by the first bridge. The cow was swimming upstream. No further. 

Report of rock thrown through reporting party’s dining room window.  

Report of unauthorized laser elimination reported by aircraft. Approximately three miles south of Grant County Airport. Green laser.  

Report of subject saying they were attacked on the base by someone with a rake.  

April 16 

Report of car driving recklessly south of Interstate 90.  

Report of cold burglary. Broken window and drill on window sill from previous night. 

Report of lost phone, laptop, keyboard and mouse in Moses Lake. Lost around three or four weeks ago. 

Report of male suspect not supposed to be at reporting party’s residence. Reporting party said the suspect tried to run over their sister in law.  

Report of stolen vehicle, 2014 Dodge Challenger SRT. 

Report of tree down and covering the whole roadway. 

Report of mini bike stolen off Scenic Drive in Moses Lake.  

Moses Lake PD 

April 12 

Report of older man damaging electrical box with crowbar. Officers unable to locate male, power box checked and showed no signs of damage.  

Report of reporting party placing clothing in drying and setting a timer. When the time went off and he returned to retrieve his clothes, he discovered someone had stolen them. Police contacted the employee at the laundromat who said only the owner had access to the camera and the owner is on vacation. Owner to review cameras when they return. 

Report of theft in progress. Two males selected items at business on North Stratford Road placing them in shopping cart. A third male remained in the distance, once the cart was full the third male pushed the cart out, passing all points of sale. The male walked through the parking lot and placed the items in a car. The fourth male drove away in the vehicle. The owner of vehicle contacted and advised her vehicle was being used in a crime. The owner asked if the the vehicle is located she would like a phone call to arrange a family member to pick up the car.  

Report of three males entering store on North Stratford Road and stealing around $40 worth of alcohol. Males left in white GMC pick-up. Charges to be filed if suspects identified. 

Report of overdose on West Broadway Avenue. The subject evaluated by medics and released.  

April 13 

Report of MLPD assisting GCSO with possible bomb or firework injury. 

Report of several callers reporting a suspect driving recklessly in the area and yelling at people from his vehicle on North Grape Drive and West Luta Street. Callers said the suspect was speeding and driving around block repeatedly to harass them. Officers checked area and contacted owner of reported vehicle. Owner advised she would talk to her son, who had her vehicle.  

Report of assault on South Garden Street. There is probable cause to arrest suspect for fourth-degree assault – domestic violence. 

Report of collision on East Nelson Road and State Route 17. Driver one said the sun was in his eyes and he did not see vehicle two. Vehicle one was westbound and failed to stop hitting vehicle two. Driver one was not insured and will be issued fine for operating a motor vehicle without insurance. 

Report of female suspect stealing items from store on North Stratford Road. Vehicle located and suspect identified. Report to follow for third-degree theft.  

Report of reporting party attacked at residence on West Glenmoor Drive. Report to follow for fourth-degree assault – domestic violence and third-degree malicious mischief. 

Report of unreported stolen vehicle at business on North Stratford Road. Officers contacted vehicle owners who said she would be reporting the vehicle as stolen with local agency. Officers searched for vehicle but gone on police arrival.  

April 14 

Report of wallet found off of Paxson Drive. Found owner and left voice mail. 

Report of collision on City Street. Vehicle two came to a stop. Vehicle two turned left. Vehicle one failed to stop at red light and hit vehicle two. 

Report of physical domestic violence on Sunny Drive Northeast. Suspect walked away prior to police arrival. Police located subject about a block away. Probable cause established to arrest male for fourth-degree assault – domestic violence. Suspect booked into Grant County Jail. 

Report of subject outside Sleep Center was involved in kidnapping. Officers responded and confirmed it was not the wanted subject from kidnapping.  

Report of MLPD contacting juvenile who is a habitual runaway. Juvenile in possession of firearm. Juvenile placed into custody for first-degree unlawful possession of firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.  

April 15 

Report of collision on State Route 17. Vehicle two, in front, breaked for traffic. Vehicle one unable to come to stop rear ended vehicle two. 

Report of customer backing up into gas pump on South Pioneer Way. Suspect damaged handle, nozzle and broke the part that holds the nozzle on the pump. Suspect left. Camera not clear enough to get license plate. If suspect identified, a report will follow for hit and run property damage.  

Report of unknown male subject threatening to approach garbage truck driver and put a “gun in his face and make him do his job.” Reporting party said he did not believe the subject would commit such act but requested documentation.  

Report of female attempting to push out a cart full of merchandize at business on North Stratford Road. Female was contacted by asset protection. She went back into store and attempted to pay then left.  

Report of vehicle prowl at Cascade Park. A purse was stolen. 

Report of multiple vehicle prowls at Lauzier Field. Unknown suspect broke windows and stole items inside. All victims wish to pursue charges if suspects are identified.  

Report of three vehicles had their windows smashed and purses taken out of each of them at Larson Recreation Center. No surveillance footage. 

April 16 

Report of unknown suspect stealing bicycle from his front porch. Reporting party said bicycle was BMX style worth around $800. Reporting party wishes to pursue charges.  

Report of subject breaking glass door on East Broadway Avenue. Police attempted to locate vehicle and suspect. 

Report of cold domestic violence on Roberts Place Northeast. Victim said her significant other assaulted her two days earlier. Victim had bruises. GCSO was contacted.  

Report of subject contacted about trespassing multiple times at Moses Lake City Hall. Subject arrested and booked for second-degree trespassing.  

Report of female suspect concealing merchandise under a blanket and leaving without paying at business on South Pioneer Way.
