April 20, 1975 – MYKLEBUST’S WINNERS
Mrs. Kermit Miller won a Jantzen leisure outfit and matching shirt from Myklebust’s as part of the grand opening festivities at Gunnings Alley. Second prize winners Jim Warren and Mary Edwards both won a pair of Harris slacks. Third place winners Brad Booth, Mrs. Gordon Cordes and Randy Lovell received Kennington sport shirts, while Impulse sport shirts went to Bud Benoit, Bill Haskins and W.D. Lewis. Fourth place winners Ken Coffman and Mark Johnson received Jockey briefs and T-shirts.

KIRSTEN THOMPSON IS JUNIOR MISS
Sandpoint’s new Junior Miss for 1975 is Kirsten Thompson, who was crowned during the second annual Junior Miss Pageant sponsored by the Sandpoint Jaycees. Miss Thompson, the daughter of Mrs. Helen M. Thompson, was also awarded the poise and appearance and the scholarship awards. Naomi Marquez, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Marquez, was named first princess and also won the youth fitness award. Second Princess is Alissa Creeger, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rohrbach. Miss Creeger, who performed a flute solo, won the talent award. Other awards went to: Carol McAvoy, the spirit award voted on by the girls; Jan Marley, the Kodak award by Ross Rexall Drug; Alissa Creeger, Breck Award by Idolwood Beauty Salon; and Maggie Critchlow, the Kraft Award by Les Rogers, M & J Food City.

BOYS WIN TOP SCHOLASTIC HONORS!
For the first time in many years, boys have won the highest scholastic honors at Sandpoint high. Bill Kinney, valedictorian, and salutatorian Bob Parsons will share honors at the commencement in May.

S.H.S. HIGH HONOR ROLL
The high school honor roll has been released, with 17 students on the high honor roll: Donna Chronic, Geraldine Farrar, Allen Stubberud, Karen Hayden, Melvin Lacock, Arlene Faurot, Inez Mott, Firle Selle, Mona Jane Brisboy, Dick Stearns, Ray Greer, Bob Wood, Carol Rojan, Mary Weaver, Bud Van Stone, Merlin Olenslager and Irene Albertson.

CITY IN BRIEF
Before they become so common, the first few dandelions that burst into golden bloom Thursday along the south wall of the postoffice and the courthouse were a welcome harbinger of spring.
Miss Willetta Shields, who is in nurses’ training at the Sacred Heart hospital in Spokane, was the week end guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.R. Bourbon, who live in the Camp Bay district.
