Libby Volunteer Fire Department crews battled a structure fire Friday afternoon at a residence on Kootenai River Road.
According to a report by LVFD Chief Steve Lauer, the call came in shortly after noon to 6691 Kootenai River Road. A 50-foot by 70-foot shop was destroyed and there was exterior damage to a guest house. No injuries were reported.
Twenty-one firefighters were on the scene along with a structure engine and three water tenders.
The damage estimate was at least $500,000 with the shop and its contents as well as the guest house. Lauer said it could be higher considering the shop held a large boat and two damaged utility trailers that held snowmobiles.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Libby Volunteer Ambulance, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Flathead Electric also responded to the scene.
