It was an all-Libby affair in the boys singles 1s and 2s championship Saturday at the Libby Invitational.

In girls doubles 1s and 2s, Libby’s Bella Meyer and Aubrey Davis battled to a second place finish. The duo played three sets in all three matches, including tiebreakers in the semifinals and finals.

In girls doubles 3, the Troy duo of Sophia Simanovick and Brooke Place placed fourth.
“It was an incredible two days of tennis, beginning at 1 p.m. Friday and wrapping up around 8 p.m. Saturday,” Libby head coach Kyle Hannah said. “Nearly 100 matches were played, giving the kids a tremendous amount of court time over the course of the event. This was our first year hosting the tournament using the courts in Troy, and it couldn't have gone better. A huge thank you to the coaches and administration in Troy for partnering with us to make this tournament happen. It was not only a great success but also something we look forward to becoming a tradition in the years ahead.
“I’d also like to extend a big thank you to the Libby community. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces coming out to support our student-athletes. We expect that same great energy when we host divisionals in just a few weeks.”
Hannah also expressed his appreciation to Nik Rewerts.
“Finally, a heartfelt thank you to Mr. Rewerts for being present every moment to ensure everyone's needs were met, and to sssistant coach Terry Oedewaldt for managing both locations throughout the event. He is truly the glue that holds our program together!
“As for the players, the kids in Libby are truly outstanding. Everyone played with heart and determination, gaining valuable experience in preparation for the upcoming divisional tournament. It was exciting to watch each player improve and grow over the course of the weekend.”
