Bret Roush, 66, of Priest River, Idaho, went home to Jesus on April 2, 2025.

Bret was the beloved husband of Shari Dovale, and father to five wonderful daughters: Donalyn Dovale-Brown, Kiersten Roush, Linnea Vines, Jordan Reed, and Sharyl Dovale. He will meet his loving parents in Heaven, Ronald and Doris Roush. He is survived by his brother and sister, Lee Roush and Tracie Clark, as well as five grandsons, three granddaughters, and numerous friends who will miss him dearly.

Bret graduated from Clearwater Christian with a focus in humanities and Bible. After many years in the construction industry, Bret transitioned to repairing appliances. With a final move to North Idaho, Bret and Shari became the proud owners of Panhandle Appliance, where he spent many years providing dependable service to his community. He became so well-versed in appliances he gained a reputation for diagnosing needed repairs by sound over the phone, which amused him greatly. His work ethic and commitment to helping others earned him a reputation as a trusted professional.

Bret was a man of deep faith, with a favorite quote that reflected his strong spiritual beliefs: “Absent from the body; present with the Lord.” He was always fond of a good discussion, a thoughtful reading, and meaningful connection with those who wanted to better know the Lord. In addition to being a devout Christian, Bret was also a lover of books and games. Bret found joy in Dungeons & Dragons, board games, and the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, all of which were shared regularly with his family.

Bret's family and friends will forever remember him for his gentleness, his easy laugh, and the warmth he brought to every gathering. Well done, good and faithful servant.

A celebration of life will be held at Parkside Church in Sandpoint at 1 p.m. May 24. Further details can be found at everloved.com. All are welcome.
