Jerry Albert Johnson, 87, of Rathdrum, Idaho, passed away peacefully at his home April 23, 2025. Born on April 19, 1938, Jerry was a lifelong Idahoan who grew up and spent most of his life farming in Worley, where his love for the land and dedication to agriculture shaped both his life and community.

Jerry served honorably in the Air National Guard in the 1960s and graduated from the University of Idaho in Moscow in 1961. Jerry was also active as a Shriner throughout his adult life.

A respected leader in Idaho’s farming community, Jerry served within the Idaho Wheat Commission in the 1970s, advocating for growers and helping to shape policy that benefited farmers statewide. In 1976, he brought his passion for public service to a broader stage, running for a seat in the Idaho State House of Representatives.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Faye Johnson; his children, Jason Johnson and Jill Towson; and his sister, Joyce O’Neil, along with extended family. He will be remembered for his steady hand, strong values, and unwavering commitment to family, farming and community.
