A land swap between the city of Whitefish and School District 44 was inching toward completion. The land transfer had been on the trustees’ agenda on and off throughout the 1994-95 school year. ”It's the only thing I can remember being on the agenda that long,” said Dave Peters, district superintendent. “We're getting the kinks worked out.” The swap involved the district transferring approximately 1.3 acres on the north corner of Central Avenue and Railway Street to the city and the city transferring approximately 1.7 acres northwest of the Central School gym to the district.

The Whitefish High School boys’ tennis team was known as “Young Guns” because all six were freshmen. They keyed the Bulldogs’ 5-2 Conference win over Columbia Falls by sweeping doubles play. “We've got a really young doubles crowd this season,” Whitefish coach Michelle Malletta said. “But they're improving rapidly and taking great strides. They're working very hard.” Along with the win over Columbia Falls, Whitefish suffered twin setbacks at Polson and Ronan. Polson dealt the Bulldogs a 5-2 loss and Ronan won 4-3.
