Home prices down in Grant Co., up in Adams Co.

Homes are selling for less and taking longer than a month ago in Grant County, according to real estate professionals.

COLUMBIA BASIN — Home prices are down slightly in Grant County, and they’re also selling more slowly, according to the real estate website Redfin. On the other hand, Adams County is running somewhat in the opposite direction.
The median sale price of a home in Grant County was $363,965 in June 2025, according to Redfin’s figures, a 1.6% decrease from June 2024. At the same time, the average home could expect to spend 58 days on the market in 2025 compared to 27 last year. Ninety-two homes were sold in Grant County.
The trend went the other direction in Adams County, the Redfin data showed. The median price of an Adams County home in June 2025 was $344,900, 5.3% more than in June 2024, and the median days on the market was 32 compared to 46 last year. Eleven homes were sold in June 2025, the same number as in June 2024.
According to the real estate website Rocket, 646 homes were on the market in Grant County in June 2025, up 6.6% from 606 homes in May. Adams County had 113 homes for sale in June, according to Rocket, a 10.8% increase from May. The majority of homes sold in June, 53.3%, went for below asking price in Adams County, and 50.6% went for below asking in Grant County.
Homes in Moses Lake stayed in the market an average of 50 days, according to Redfin, compared to 27 in Soap Lake. Ephrata homes sold quickly, according to Redfin’s figures, spending only 15 days in the market.
In Adams County, homes remained on the market an average of 62 days in Othello, according to Redfin, and 86 days in Ritzville.

Valentine’s Day cards flood Brookdale Hearthstone with love
MOSES LAKE — Residents at Brookdale Hearthstone Assisted Living in Moses Lake got Valentine’s Day greetings from across the country last month. “I believe that the only states we have not received (cards from) yet are Vermont and Maine,” Lifestyle Director Imelda Broyles said Feb. 24. “We keep receiving new cards every single day. They have not stopped. My residents are in awe with every single one of the cards that we’ve been receiving.” The Hearts Across America project started as a way for children in school classrooms to exchange Valentine’s Day cards with classes in other states or even countries, but the idea has expanded to senior living facilities, according to the project’s social media.
