COEUR d’ALENE — A $10,000 grant will help nonprofit Village of Hope CDA continue making a positive impact on vulnerable children in North Idaho.

The Idaho Community Foundation announced the four winners of its “$200M Moment” campaign, which celebrated the foundation surpassing $200 million in grants awarded to Idaho communities by inviting Idahoans to enter for a chance to award a $10,000 grant to a nonprofit in their region. 

The four winners were randomly selected from more than 2,200 entries across Idaho. The other grant winners are Community Suicide Prevention of Eastern and Southeastern Idaho, the Children’s Museum of the Magic Valley and the Boise Bicycle Project. 

“We are deeply honored to receive this grant,” said Angela Gifford, Village of Hope CDA executive director. 

Village of Hope CDA partners with foster parents, social workers and the broader community to provide support and resources to children and families in crisis. 

“At Village of Hope CDA, our ultimate goal is to see fewer children enter the foster care system,” Gifford said. “To move toward that vision, we’ve been expanding our presence in prevention-focused spaces — creating safe, healing environments where at-risk families and teens can begin to break generational cycles of trauma and learned abuse.” 

Gifford said grants like the one from the Idaho Community Foundation will make it possible to grow programs such as the HALO Project, which helps prevent “failed adoptions and foster placements,” as well as specialized training and courses for caregivers and those who work with children. 

“The cost of offering these services is significant and often out of reach for those who need them most,” Gifford said. “This grant ensures that we can continue to provide life-changing support for our most vulnerable community members, free of financial barriers.” 

The Idaho Community Foundation will host a community celebration from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at Village of Hope CDA, 1318 W. Hanley Ave.
