Howard, an infielder/pitcher, allowed three hits in a complete game win over the Nampa Braves in the state class A tournament on July 25 in Idaho Falls, one of four straight wins in loser-out games to help the Cardinals advance to the Northwest Regional tournament this week in Burley. Howard is batting .344 in the postseason and helped turn five double plays. “Timothy really did a good job of pitching to contact and keeping his pitch count low,” Prairie coach Nathan Collier said. “To get that kind of length really helped us stretch this run out this far.”
