Following a brief illness, Gayle Anthony passed away peacefully July 28, 2025, at the home of her youngest daughter, Kelli. She was surrounded by the love of her family — her grandchildren, daughters, sons-in-law and, most importantly, Tom, her devoted husband of 61 years.

Born in Seattle on July 9, 1945, to Jean and Colin O’Donnell, Gayle was the youngest of three children. After the passing of her father, the family moved back to the Coeur d’Alene area to be closer to extended family.

Gayle spent the last 20 years of her career working alongside her daughters, Anna and Kelli, at Fratelli Salon. Her outgoing personality made her a favorite among the staff and guests alike.

Known for her patience, generosity, intelligence and infectious sense of humor, Gayle was a deeply loving mother, wife and grandmother. She and Tom never missed a soccer game, concert or ballet recital —always showing up with unwavering support and pride.

Gayle was nothing short of an artist with her beautiful Christmas cookies and carefully wrapped gifts. She was known for being a talented seamstress and hilarious storyteller. She had a special talent for making people feel heard. Above all, her family loved her for simply being herself. We will miss her more than words can say.

She leaves behind her husband, Tom; her daughters, Anna Jessick (Scott) and Kelli Cordon (Michael); her grandchildren, Colin (Ashley), Emilee (Cody), Madison (Blaine) and Meredith; and her great-grandchildren, Emmi, Rosie, Lynden and Ronan. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Steve Anthony, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will take place later this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of North Idaho (www.hospiceofnorthidaho.org). Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with the final arrangements. Gayle’s online memorial is at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
