Candidate filing for local offices due Aug. 29

Those interested in running for local offices must file for their candidacy by the end of the month. 

Seats are up for grabs within the Bonners Ferry and Moyie Springs city councils, as well as the Boundary County School District Board. 

Four of the five seats for city council, as well as the mayoral seat, are up for election in both cities. 

Two seats are open on the BCSD Board. BCSD Chair Ron MacDonald, as well as board member Mary Fioravanti, have both opted against running for re-election. 

To file for candidacy with either city, register at the respective City Hall by 5 p.m. on Aug 29. 

Write-in candidates are eligible to declare for the election until Sept. 5. Election day is Nov. 4.
