Three Polson Lady Pirates will continue their softball careers at the collegiate level following standout performances this summer, including appearances at the 2025 VMC (Veterans Memorial Classic) all-star showcase.

Seniors Samantha Rensvold and Olivia Jore are set to join the Spokane Falls Sasquatch in the fall, while Liz Cunningham is headed to Miles Community College in Miles City. All three capped their high school careers with strong showings during the VMC, which brings together top softball players from across Montana.

Jore not only helped lead the Air Force squad to a VMC championship but also launched two home runs during the 2025 VMC Home Run Derby, placing her among the top performers in a field of 30 sluggers. The derby was won by Olivia Gibbons of Glacier, who hit six home runs. Jore was one of five players to hit multiple homers.

Cunningham represented the Coast Guard team at VMC, going 2-for-2 with a double in the team’s 7-4 win over Navy in the consolation game. In the VMC title matchup, however, the Coast Guard squad fell to Air Force 12-1. Cunningham went 0-for-1 in that contest, while teammate and fellow MAC athlete Maia Christopher went 1-for-2.

Christopher had a standout tournament, winning the VMC base running challenge with a blazing 5.67-second run, the fastest among 15 finalists. She also tallied a 3-for-3 outing in the Coast Guard’s consolation win, including a double.

The VMC championship game featured several impressive offensive showings. Air Force’s Charity Dunn of Shepherd homered, while Columbia Falls’ Annika Reid went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a home run. Flathead’s Mackenzie Brandt added a two-hit, two-RBI performance with a double and homer.
