Expanded event set for Aug. 15-23

POST FALLS — The Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center will host its second Art Fest with expanded dates Aug. 15-23.
The indoor festival of creativity will open at 5:30 p.m. that Friday with refreshments and artists on site.
On Aug. 16, artists will be at their booths from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A guided art lesson will be available from noon to 3 p.m. in the Kids Art Area. Art Fest will offer a family art activity from noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 23.
Art Fest will be open daily from noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 16-22.
Featured local artists will include Damon Charles, Emily Bradley, Jan Clizer, Rebecca Anderson, Doreen Graham, Priscilla Patterson, JR McCurdie, Robert Brekke, Dave Gonzales, Kelsey Condon, Deborah Loy, Mia Eggleston, Johnene Ellis, Laurie Carlson, Michael Lee, Judy Minter, Betta Reierson and Annette Durkin. Art offered for sale will include original paintings in acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastels, photography, metal and fiber sculptures. Lots of print art items will also be available.
"Through the expansion of this curated art show and sale, we strive to continue extending arts offerings in Post Falls and the area, as we share the beauty of our historic building," JACC Director Darla Dreyer said in a Tuesday news release. "Several artists will be demonstrating their art techniques throughout this nine-day family event.”
Step inside the air-conditioned comfort of the JACC and enjoy the works of beloved local artists in the peace and beauty of a building that dates back to the late 1890s and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Plenty of free parking can be found in the JACC lot and the surrounding streets.
The JACC is at 405 N. William St., Post Falls.
