LEGION BASEBALL: Prairie knocked out in two at Northwest Regional

BURLEY — Breckin Hoskinson singled to score Mason Perkins to cut the deficit to 4-3 for Prairie with two outs in the top of the sixth inning, but the Cache Wolverines of Millville, Utah added two runs in the bottom of the frame, and went on to beat the Cardinals 6-3 in a loser-out game in the Northwest “A” Regional tournament on Friday at Burley High. 

Prairie finished 25-17-1.

Cache (25-12-3) will face Lovell (Wyo.) in a loser-out game today. 

Prairie took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single by Alec Olson. Cache tied the game on a passed ball, then took the lead on an RBI single by Brady Akins, who finished with three RBIs, including a two-run triple in the sixth inning to make it 6-3.
