A brush fire burned trees and reeds along the shore of Moses Lake, but didn't threaten any buildings.

MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake Fire Department crews were mopping up the scene of a fire along the shore of Moses Lake about mid-afternoon Sunday.
The fire was reported about 3:15 p.m. near the intersection of State Route 17 and East Broadway Avenue. The fire burned along the lakeshore among reeds and some small trees. It was reported out at about 4:25 p.m.
Fire crews responded with brush rigs and water tenders, due to the fire’s location.

3 arrested in Royal City area thefts case

More park improvements planned for Royal City in ‘26
ROYAL CITY — Lions Park in Royal City now has a soccer field, so city officials will be working on the next phase of improvements in 2026. The first phase of upgrades to Apple Avenue also is scheduled for 2026, and both are among the projects reflected in the city’s 2026 budget. The budget was approved by Royal City City Council members Tuesday.
