HAYDEN — A man was found dead Monday afternoon in Hayden and the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office is investigating the matter as a homicide, according to a press release.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in the 15000 block of N. Hamlet Trail in Hayden around 1:50 p.m. for a "medical incident" after a resident reported finding an injured man on his property and “blood on the front porch of his residence,” a news release said.

Authorities said the injured man had sustained traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police from multiple agencies, with the assistance of K-9s and drones, searched the residence where the man was found, as well as the surrounding area. No other victims were found, nor were any suspects.

The victim has not yet been publicly identified by the sheriff’s office.
