Bette Jacquot, 86

Bette Lee (Barnum) Jacquot, age 86, passed away Aug. 8, 2025. Bette was born Jan. 14, 1939, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to Clifford and Harriet (Erley) Barnum. She grew up in Coeur d’Alene and graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1957. She also graduated from North Idaho College in 1959 and attended Eastern Washington University. 

Bette married A. Charles Jacquot in 1959, and together they shared 49 years of marriage. They built a life together in Roseburg, Ore., where they raised their children, David and John Jacquot. 

She worked as a first grade teacher for the Glide School District. In her free time, Bette enjoyed reading, watching sports, sewing, crocheting, quilting and genealogy research. She was especially passionate about family.

Bette is survived by her sons, David (Linda) Jacquot and John (Julie) Jacquot; grandsons Nicolas Jacquot and Nathan (Hilary) Jacquot. She has many cousins, nieces, grandnieces and extended family who love her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jacquot; mother Harriet Barnum; and father Clifford Barnum. 

A funeral service will be held Aug. 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, with a reception to follow. A livestream of the funeral service can be watched at www.englishfuneralchapel.com, and the video will be accessible to view after the service as well. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Orchard Ridge Assisted Living in Coeur d’Alene, in memory of Bette. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the Orchard Ridge Assisted Living in Coeur d’Alene and North Idaho Hospice.
