The Rex Theater will host a free community screening of “The Real Yellowstone” on Saturday, Aug. 23. According to the film’s description, it “dives deep into the untold stories of rural families, wildlife conflict, and what’s truly at stake for the American West.”

Showtime is set for 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. The 87-minute film, directed by conservation filmmaker Tom Opre, is being presented in partnership with the Shepherds of Wildlife Society.

While admission is free thanks to a local family who purchased the theater’s full seating capacity, donations are encouraged. All contributions will benefit the Shepherds of Wildlife Society, a nonprofit dedicated to wildlife conservation and rural community advocacy.

Following the screening, Opre will join local farmers and ranchers for a 30-minute panel discussion on the film’s themes and real-world implications.

A special VIP meet-and-greet with Opre will be held from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. next door at the Wellness Tea Bar & Organic Bistro. The event is open to film ticket holders on a first-come, first-served basis.
