Ephrata PD logs for Aug. 14, 2025

The reports below were provided by the Ephrata Police Department. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  

Aug. 6 

Report of wanted person. Checked area with assistance of Grant County Sheriff’s Office. Unable to locate. 

Report of wrong way driver that almost his the reporting party. Reporting party said he was on Alder Street Southwest when the tan car turned eastbound on Division. The vehicle was unable to be located.  

Report of theft in custody. Subject stole items from store and was cooperative with asset protection when confronted.  

Aug. 7 

Report of suspicious circumstances in 100 block of Mocliff Road. Reporting party said someone rang her doorbell and she didn’t want to check to see who it was. Ephrata PD responded and searched but was unable to located anyone. 

Report of damage. Reporting party said girlfriend damaged his car on purpose. Police contacted girlfriend who said it was an accident. There was a small ding with red paint on it. There were two other dings on driver’s side door. 

Report of domestic. Suspect broke TV. Victim had no visible injuries and the subject had bloody knuckles from punching the TV. Report submitted third-degree malicious mischief and fourth-degree assault – domestic violence. 

Aug. 8 

Report of assault. Reporting party only wanted it documented. 

Report of domestic. All fine when police arrived. 

Report of missing person in Moses Lake. Moses Lake PD asked Ephrataa PD for assistance locating missing person.  

Aug. 9 

Report of subject in reflective vest who was close to railroad tracks. The reporting party requested Ephrata PD checked the area. Located subject with a reflective cone, but no vest near railroad.  

Report of in progress traffic violation on State Route 282 and Airport Street. Unable to located vehicle.  

Aug. 10 

Report of theft of a firearm in the 400 block of Sixth Avenue Southwest. Reporting party said his firearm was stolen on Aug. 6.  

Report of theft on Nat Washington Way. Reporting party said male and female subjects came into the store three times. First time they walked out with cosmetic items without paying. Then moved the vehicle. Both came back into store and bought food with cash then moved vehicle. Female came back in and returned clothing to get a gift card.  

Aug. 11 

Report of suspect with a pick axe that threatened to kill the reporting party. Reporting party used bear mace on the subject shortly before police arrival. Reporting party said he was following the subject and the subject charged at him with a pickaxe. No one wanted to press charges. 

Report of unknown semi truck taking turn from westbound Division Avenue to northbound Basin Street Northwest too sharp. Semi truck hit the lamp post, knocking it to the ground. Reporting party said the driver knew he did this but continued northbound towards Soap Lake. 

Report of theft on Nat Washington Way of Bose speaker. Total loss of $216.80. Subject defeated the spider web alarm system to take it. Subject has not been identified.
