The Bozeman Symphony holds a free ensemble performance in Kalispell on Thursday, Aug. 14, just before the 6 p.m. showing of "As You Like It" by Montana Shakespeare in the Parks.

Enjoy a beautiful summer evening of music and theater as flutists Sue Makeever and Megan Makeever perform a duet beginning at 4:45 p.m. at Woodland Park, at the corner of Conrad Drive and Woodland Avenue.

Presented in partnership with Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, this concert is part of a statewide series of free summer performances featuring Bozeman Symphony ensembles. These hour-long, open-air concerts precede select MSIP productions across Montana, offering audiences an enriching fusion of live classical music and Shakespearean drama.

The Montana Shakespeare in the Park travels around the state, giving free performances of Shakespeare plays. "As You Like It" is a pastoral comedy that follows Rosalind as she flees persecution in her uncle's court, accompanied by her cousin Celia, to find safety and, eventually, love, in the Forest of Arden.

The series is part of the Symphony’s Far Afield outreach initiative, which for more than 30 years has brought high-quality symphonic music to rural and underserved communities throughout the Greater Yellowstone region. Far Afield concerts aim to connect and inspire Montanans of all ages through the transformative power of music.
