Zane Kay Goodrick was born to George and Dorothy Goodrick on Nov. 15, 1950. He lived his life in the Coeur d’Alene/Post Falls area. Zane was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army in the 1970s. He was a longtime sawyer/laborer at Kaiser Aluminum and a maintenance director in health care facilities in the area.

Zane loved the outdoors. We all have many fond memories spent camping, boating and fishing with him. He was well-traveled and adored by those who knew him. Zane absolutely loved to read, and he never missed an episode of Jeopardy.

Zane was an accomplished musician and inspired many with his musical interests and talent. He loved old country/folk music, some of his favorite artists being Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and John Prine. He would end every day singing and playing guitar, whether the room was full of people or just himself, and when he could no longer play and sing, he would listen to the music he loved instead. He was a talented woodworker as well, spending thousands of hours on hand-made gifts for those he loved. We never broke a thing he couldn’t fix.

When asked, he said he was always surrounded by friends and family, and that he had lived his life the way he wanted. He passed away at age 74 on Aug. 11, 2025, after a long battle with illness. He went in his sleep, comfortable and free of pain. He is survived by his wife, his children and his grandchildren. May he rest in peace.

English Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with his care. To leave condolences to the family, visit his memorial tribute page at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
