John Henry Rush, 75, of Osburn, Idaho, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and brother, passed away Aug. 10, 2025, at Silverton of Cascadia Health and Rehabilitation in Silverton, Idaho. John was born Aug. 15, 1949, in Gillette, Wyo., a son of the late William E. Rush and Ora Ladora (Ward) Rush.
John married Sandra Kay Philpot on Sept. 23, 1966, in St. Maries, Idaho, and had two daughters, Michelle and Rebecca. John was a truck driver for many years for various different companies. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking and playing a little guitar.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Leanne Rush; two brothers, Earl Rush and Terry Goff; a sister, Bette King; a brother-in-law, Jerry King; and a great-grandson, Ayden Rush, who passed away the same day as John.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 59 years, Sandra Kay Rush of Osburn; a daughter, Rebecca Anne (Troy) Hocking of Athol, Idaho; four grandchildren, Candace Rush of Post Falls, Idaho, Jason McClellan of Post Falls, Cody (Aliana) Hocking of Virginia and Andrew (Kenzi) Hocking of Athol; 10 great-grandchildren, Austin Hood who is stationed in Germany, Alyssa Hood of Athol, Luke Gilbert of Post Falls, Eli, Nellie and Miles Hocking of Virginia and Jubilee, Letti and Eloise Hocking of Post Falls; a great-great-grandson, Ashton Rush; a brother, George Rush; two brothers-in-law, Steve (Bonnie) Philpot of Kellogg, Idaho; two sisters in-law, Linda Christiansen and Patricia Nickleby, both of Burke, Idaho; niece and nephew, Charley and Gail Tryon (and sons) of Osburn; nephew, Robert (Pam) Christiansen of Burke; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and a large extended family of many dear friends.
At John's request, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
