Kids took aim Monday at the Idaho Fish and Game youth archery exhibit at the North Idaho State Fair.

They proved to be pretty good with bow and arrow.

Nova Wearly of Hayden was targeting the dinosaur, but managed to hit the jackalope.

“That was so much fun. My favorite thing was just learning how to do it and how heavy to pull it, it was kind of like the movie, ‘Brave,’” Wearly said.

Working on the informational side of the exhibit, Rob Ryan, of Fish and Game, said it has been exciting for kids to take their best shots.

Ryan said most of the kids had never used a bow and arrow before and were trying it out for the first time. They were glad to teach them.

“At Fish and Game, there’s an interest in connecting kids to fishing and hunting,” Ryan said.

The 10-day fair continues through Sunday at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds.
