NO. 1816 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FLATHEAD COUNTY PLANNING BOARD REGULAR MEETING The Flathead County Planning Board will hold their regular meeting on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, beginning at 6:00pm in the 2nd floor conference room of the South Campus Building, 40 11th Street West, Kalispell, Montana.. During this meeting, the Board will hold a public hearing to consider the agenda items described below and make a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners who will take final action. 1. A public-initiated text amendment to the Canyon Area Land Use Regulatory System (CALURS). The proposed changes are in response to the changes made to MCA during the 2025 legislative session. The legislative updates require adding definitions related to manufactured homes, factory-built housing, and tiny dwelling units. The amendment will also include adding definitions for RV, RV park, and amend the definition of guest cottage. ( Per 76-2-202 MCA and SB 252 and SB 532, 69th Legislative Session). SB 174 (69th Legislative Session) removes RV parks from subdivision review; as such, in CALURS, only Major Land Use Review will be required for RV parks. Section 4.2 is being updated to add the existing RV park standards from the subdivision regulations. This item will be reviewed by the Middle Canyon Land Use Advisory Committee on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 @ 7:00 PM, at the Coram Fire Hall, located on Seville Lane, Coram, MT 59913 Documents and maps pertaining to these agenda items are on file for public inspection in the Flathead County Planning and Zoning Office, South Campus Building, 40 11th Street West, Ste. 220 in Kalispell. All decisions made by the Planning Board are considered recommendations and will be forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners for final action.
