The P-Town Classic strikes again
Lake County Leader | UPDATED 12 months AGO
The annual P-Town Classic Golf Tournament, held Aug. 9 at Polson Bay Golf Course, raised $3,500 for the Boys and Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation and Lake County.
“The tournament went great,” reported founder Kris McKethen. He said 21 teams of Polson alumni and faculty registered, with many new faces appearing on the course this year.
The net winners were the Class of ’94 women (Heather Walter, Maribeth Thomas, Raina Yarborough and Brook Lund), and the multi-class group comprised of Casey Lozar, Eric Hogenson, Brian Hogenson and David Robison.
Although there was a three-way tie for men’s gross, Mike Geer, Kevin Howlett, Jeff Larson and Jeff Devlin took the title. The mixed gross winners were Tim Rausch, Cecilly Grant, Scott Frydenlund and Mattie Frydenlund.
According to McKethen, several businesses donated from Polson and beyond, “which really made this possible.”
He said organization was a team effort, adding that Heather and Brad Walter and Shawn Hendrickson “were my boots-on-the-ground go-getters." The P-Town Classic Committee and a throng of volunteers also sprang into action.
McKethen (Class of ’93) launched the P-Town Classic last year to “build competition between classes,” raise money and have fun. It appears to meet all those goals.
“We have some new stuff to offer next year but I don’t want to give that away,” he says. “So stay tuned and get involved.”
