Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 3 months, 2 weeks AGO
The 15th anniversary of the Whitefish Trail Hootenanny supports local conservation lands with Whitefish Legacy Partners on Aug. 22 at Depot Park in downtown Whitefish from 5-9:30 p.m.
Enjoy live music, kid’s activities, food trucks, local craft beer and a huge raffle. All ages are welcome, and participants are encouraged to walk or ride bikes to the event. Proceeds will benefit Whitefish Legacy Partners and the Whitefish Trail.
“This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Whitefish Trail Hootenanny, and we’re thrilled to celebrate with our community that makes it all possible,” said Nathan Tuebner, Whitefish Legacy Partners program manager. “The Hootenanny is our way of bringing the community together at the end of summer to celebrate the Whitefish Trail and our local conservation lands. It combines music, community and fundraising for a great cause.”
Food trucks and local craft beer, wine, cider, and non-alcoholic beer will be available for purchase.
The event features three bands. Badger Hound, playing at 5:30 p.m., is known for their modern country music, heartfelt lyrics, and soulful melodies. Buffalo Galaxy, with their mix of catchy originals and popular classics on the banjo, mandolin, upright bass, and acoustic guitar, will begin at 7 p.m. The headliner band, Boot Juice, features three-part vocal harmonies with doses of soul, blues and sultry appeal and will go on at 8:30 p.m.
An after-party with Boot Juice will be held at the Great Northern Bar & Grill, with separate tickets required. The cover charge will be $5 less for those with a Hootenanny wristband.
Tickets for the Hootenanny are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate, with kids 12 and under free. Tickets can be purchased online at www.whitefishlegacy.org or in person at Glacier Cyclery & Nordic, Sportsman & Ski Haus Whitefish, and in front of Blackstar Brewery on Tuesday, Aug. 19 from 4-7 p.m.
A highlight of the event is the raffle with prizes including two unrestricted roundtrip tickets on Alaska Airlines, a Whitefish Mountain Resort season ski pass, a mountain bike from Glacier Cyclery and Nordic, IV Element recovery and performance drips and shots, restaurant and lodging gift certificates from the Lodge at Whitefish Lake, Firebrand, Whitefish Riverfront Hotel, and the Kandahar Lodge, a bike tool kit from Great Northern Cycle & Ski, two half day whitewater rafting trips from Glacier Raft Company, a half day of fishing on Whitefish Lake from Whitefish Lake Charters, and Legacy Bike Park day passes.
The fundraising event is made possible by title sponsor First Interstate Bank and event sponsors BNSF Railway, Glacier Restaurant Group, Malmquist Construction, National Parks Realty, Pursuit Collections, IV Element, and Edward Jones Financial Advisor Joel Pemberton. Music is sponsored by Great Northern Bar and Grill, 101 Central, and the Firebrand. Kids’ activities are sponsored by FAMB and Stumptown Art Studio, and the craft beer is exclusively from sponsors Jeremiah Johnson Brewing Company & Blackstar Brewery.
