PREP ROUNDUP: Timberlake volleyball team opens with win

SPIRIT LAKE — Freshman Everlee Powell had 12 kills, 12 digs and three aces as the Timberlake Tigers opened their season with a 25-18, 25-19, 20-25, 25-22 victory over Stillwater Christian of Kalispell, Mont., on Friday night.
Willow Mattson added 19 assists and nine digs for Timberlake. Addie Archer had 21 digs and five aces, Shea Jones 10 kills and eight blocks, Jordyn Parke 11 assists.
“We worked well together and kept our energy high as we battled point for point in the fourth set to finish on top,” second-year Timberlake coach Lisa Gardom said. “It was a great start to the season and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.”
Timberlake plays host to Kellogg on Tuesday.
