ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Lucas Mathews, Priest River Football

This week's Athlete of the Week is Lucas Mathews of Priest River football.

Lucas, a senior and four-year starter at quarterback, matched his passing touchdown total from last season by throwing a school record seven touchdown passes in a 76-0 win over Salmon to start the season. The 6-foot 1-inch, 185-pound right-hander completed 19 of his 26 passes, including two for 50-yard scores, and tallied 294 passing yards on the evening.
