Group promoting passenger rail line meets in Livingston

The Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority is hosting its annual conference Sept. 8-10 at the Livingston Depot, with a board meeting at 3 p.m. Monday.

Public, private, and non-profit leaders from the Great Lakes to the Pacific are planning to launch the nation’s largest economic and community development project in more than 50 years: the creation of high-performance rail and connecting services on the 2,300-plus-mile Big Sky North Coast Corridor.

This year’s theme — Turning our Stories into Action — focuses on participants setting this project in motion by sharing experiences and ideas, developing strategies to advance the effort and collaborating across sectors to build relationships needed for success.

The three-day conference will feature panel discussions, keynote speakers, regional and cross-border perspectives and interactive opportunities.
