While it may be time to start scoping out some low-key fall activities like joining a book club or making plans to Mend and Mingle with the Making Place, I'm not quite ready to let summer go just yet. Fortunately for me, September promises some excellent Montana fun.

But first .. you will want to Save the Date for the 3rd Annual Trego Heritage Day on Saturday, October 4th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Celebrating the Trego, Fortine, and Stryker communities in early 1800s fashion, literally! Guests are encouraged to dress in historical garb and wander the grounds of the Blarney Ranch to celebrate the history and traditions of Northwest Montana.

While donations are encouraged, Trego Heritage Day is a free event for the entire family. Proceeds raised will support the Trego, Fortine Stryker Community Hall in all their many endeavors.

For its third year, Heritage Day is going all out with wandering musicians, a black powder shoot, gold panning, axe throwing, cast iron cooking, wagon rides, a logging demonstration, a traditional bow and arrow course, as well as draft horses and a hay bale scavenger hunt for the kidlets. Two bounce houses, several local food trucks, and local artisan vendors will be on hand offering up a few modern amenities. Plus, pick your pumpkin at the pumpkin patch. Large pumpkins are just $8 each.
