COEUR d’ALENE — Mouhammed Fadel Fall, a sophomore from Dakar, Senegal, recorded a hat trick — all in the first half — for North Idaho College in a 9-0 win over Northwest Athletic Conference foe Edmonds Community College on Thursday at Eisenwinter Field.
Sophomore midfielder Loren Aerts had a goal and assist for NIC (3-0-0), which hosts Northwest of Powell, Wyo., on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
The match was ended in the 70th minute due to the NJCAA’s mercy rule that states if a match has an eight-goal difference after 70 minutes, the match is called. This is the first year of the rule change.
Edmonds of Lynwood, Wash., is 0-3.
