William 'Bill' Lawson Coker, 84

William “Bill” Lawson Coker, 84, of Kingston, Idaho, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away Aug. 22, 2025, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. A lifelong resident of the Silver Valley, Bill was born Jan. 22, 1941, in Kellogg, Idaho, a son of the late William Adrian Coker and Ruth Darlene (Lawson) Coker. 

Bill attended local schools and then went to work at the mines at an early age. He first worked at the Bunker Hill Mine for 18 years and then went on to work at the Sunshine Mine for many years until his retirement in 2001. Bill was a very proud and hardworking man and especially proud of and loved to share many stories about his mining days. 

On April 14, 1984, Bill married Dolores “Dee” Dellinger in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The couple made their home in Kingston, Idaho, where he loved to tinker around in his shop and yard; Bill always kept himself busy. He also enjoyed hunting and camping when he was able to. Bill and Dee made their second home in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for the last 30 years, a place they greatly loved. 

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his sister, Carlene. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Dolores “Dee” Coker of the family home in Kingston, Idaho; four children, Rick (Torrie) Coker of Medimont, Idaho, Charles Coker, Lisa (Mark) Stoker of Kingston, Idaho, and Mark (Becky) McKinley of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; nine grandchildren, Brady Coker, Bryton Coker, Melissa Miller, Courtney Jara, Trent McKinley, Payton McKinley, Henry McKinley, Landon Cederblom and Brandon Eaton; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Robyn Bencich of Kellogg, Idaho, and GeorgeAnn Folk of Post Falls, Idaho. Bill is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
