Bell scores, assists in C-Falls boys soccer win

COLUMBIA FALLS — Brady Bell had a goal and an assist, and Columbia Falls took an early 2-0 lead on the way to a 4-2 Class A soccer win over Laurel Friday.

The Wildcats saw Bell score just nine minutes into the game, off a feed from Whit Albrecht. At the 32:00 mark Jackson Scholz scored an unassisted goal and Columbia Falls was on its way. 

Laurel had goals from Tucker Davis (37:00) and Josiah Western (67:00). In between, Bell set up Jack Austin for one goal and Chance Pfeifle added another unassisted tally for a 4-1 Columbia Falls lead. 

Brady Heitz had 11 saves for the Wildcats, who outshot the Locomotives 17-13.

Whitefish 3, Lockwood 1 

WHITEFISH — Kyler Jonson’s hat trick powered the Whitefish Bulldogs in their opener over Lockwood. 

Jonson scored the game's opening goal in the 25th minute, unassisted. He added a second just before the half on an assist from Grayson Rembaugh. 

Javier Mira pulled one back for the Lions early in the second half, but Jonson put the game away with his third goal in the 77th minute from the penalty spot.
