Several people declared their candidacies for Coeur d'Alene City Council and mayor posts Friday, the final day to file and have their names on the November ballot.

John Pulsipher joined the mayor race, and will face incumbent Mayor Woody McEvers, Councilman Dan Gookin and resident Debbie Loffman, according to the Kootenai County Elections Office.

Amy Evans, who holds Seat 2, is being challenged by Jeff "Doc" Larson.

Kenny Gabriel, appointed to Seat 4 earlier this year, is being challenged by Dylan Hughes.

Kiki Miller, in Seat 6, is being challenged by former Kootenai County Commissioner Bill Brooks and on Friday, JD Claridge, who ran unsuccessfully for City Council in 2021, added his name to the ballot.

In other city races, Post Falls Mayor Ron Jacobson will be facing challengers Randy Westlund and Scot Haug. 

Spirit Lake Mayor Jeremy Cowperthwaite will be facing Allen Tesky, Charlene Phipps and Jack Edmenson.

Harrison Mayor Wanda Irish will be facing John Gray and Joseph Tumbarello.

Races for mayor, city council, school board, highway and fire districts will be decided Nov. 4.

The filing deadline for write-in candidates is Sept. 5.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 24. 

Early voting ends Oct. 31.
