John Robert Clerique III, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025, at the age of 78. Family services will be held at a later date.
John was born May 7, 1947, in Peoria, Ill., the son of John and Lois Clerique II. The family moved to the Encino Valley in California. He attended local schools and graduated from high school. On October 24, 1966 he joined the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam, being discharged Aug. 25, 1969.
On July 19, 1975, he married Joy Reise. He worked as a master carpenter in construction, moving to the Sandpoint area in 1978. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Clerique; daughter Maranda Clerique; his son, Keith Clerique; two grandchildren, Ixander and Kai Clerique; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
