New Coeur d'Alene practice offers 'outpatient physical therapy at your door'

COEUR d’ALENE — Janice Wright and Natasha Lee explain the business model of Therapy in Motion in simple terms: "outpatient physical therapy at your door."

The recently launched mobile practice offers one on one, in-home physical therapy care to those who are in post-surgery recovery, are coping with chronic pain or neurological conditions and those with mobility limitations.

“Essentially, anyone who is seeking assistance in the home setting,” Lee said.

Lee, a physical therapist, has been practicing outpatient care for about a year. Wright has eight years of experience of primarily outpatient work as a physical therapist assistant.

Therapy in Motion was initially inspired by a mentor of Lee’s at Idaho State University, who followed a similar outpatient model that involved visiting patients in their homes.

“It allows us to serve those patients that need therapy, but don’t quite fit the mold of home health care (or) the outpatient clinic setting,” Lee said.

The women believe Therapy in Motion’s business model will “fill the gap” for those who cannot get to a clinic, Wright added.

“Some people are just not comfortable being in the clinic setting, and prefer the privacy of their own home,” Wright said.

While Therapy in Motion’s service area is currently a “15 to 20-minute radius” in and around Coeur d’Alene, they intend on expanding the practice as it ramps up.

Therapy in Motion also accepts referrals from area doctors.

“Since we’re still new, doctors may not know that this is an option for their patients,” Lee said.

More information on Therapy in Motion’s services can be found at www.therapyinmotionpt.com, by email at [email protected] or by calling 986-204-8168.

The practice currently accepts cash payments and will soon be accepting Medicare, Medicaid and most major commercial insurances.

Clark's 'Let it Snow' campaign is back again

As the owner of Clark’s Diamond Jewelers on Sherman Avenue, Jane Clark would be the first to say that she’s no meteorologist. Even so, she’s learned a whole lot about snow over the years, thanks to the store’s annual “Let it Snow” campaign.
