PREP ROUNDUP: Yearout shines as Lumberjacks roll past Salmon

MISSOULA, Mont. — St. Maries senior tailback Aiden Yearout had eight carries for 176 yards and two touchdowns for the Lumberjacks in a 46-22 win over the Salmon Savages at Big Sky High on Saturday.
Senior quarterback Jack Barta completed 11 of 14 passes for 103 yards and three touchdowns for St. Maries, which led 40-0 at halftime. Senior Brock Barta had nine receptions for 74 yards and two touchdowns, junior Marcus Speakman a 32-yard touchdown reception and junior Kris Brusseau 11 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown in the win.
St. Maries (2-0) plays host to Bonners Ferry on Friday.
Salmon (0-2) travels to Orofino on Friday.

OROFINO — Jordyn Stutzke had 13 digs and Paige Yrjana had 11 kills and three aces for the Wildcats in a 25-18, 25-16, 25-13 Central Idaho League win over the Maniacs at Orofino High.
"We had a rocky start and allowed Orofino to take an early lead on the first set as we struggled with serve receive," Kellogg coach Hollie Yrjana said. "We pulled it together and never looked back."
Aleah Philp had four aces and served 13 straight points in the first set for Kellogg (3-0).
"It was a great spark from Aleah," Yrjana said. "It gave us the momentum switch we needed."
Ella Yrjana had 20 assists and Dani Henrikson five blocks for Kellogg, which hosts Clarkston on Tuesday.
